Wow!!! Finished already?

What have I learnt from Learning 2.0?
That there's a whole world out there and we've only scratched the surface!

What might I use?
- Flickr - there really are some great photo's here!
- RSS - I need to find a different reader, but this should save me time with my regular websites (when they all get RSS news feeds)
- Online image generators - basically it's cheating! but a lot easier than learning Photoshop
- YouTube - another great waste of time!
- Podcasts - can see this as a useful educational tool!

But I still can't see myself using blogs! But that's just MY opinion!

Would I do a similar program? I didn't expect to complete this one till after Christmas!
So... time to reflect... time to delve deeper... time to play! (and time to relate it all back to the workplace too!)
I guess that means... "Yes!"

Not sure about accessing NetLibrary now, however I had a quick browse in September. There were definitely titles I would like to listen to, and based on comments from borrowers, THEY would like access to the "classic" titles.

Podcasts by "experts" giving facts and professional analysis seem to have their place, although it does seem that if you wait long enough, another "expert" will come along with the opposite opinion!

YouTube has become a phenomenom! In 18months it has turned it's creators into billionaires!
Basically a collection of video clips, varying from home movies and webcams to excerpts from film and tv.
Obviously some people put a lot of time and effort into the clips. Others don't...
Unfortunately we've recently seen what some people think should be public viewing.

Anyhow, here's a good effort! Combining REM and scenes from Lost...

I took a look at lastfm.com hoping to make some musical discoveries. I typed in the name of a band, it gave me a brief bio and a partial discography, and linked to amazon.com for purchasing.
I could get a full up-to-date bio and discography by going to the band's official site. I saw no links to "similar" bands.
This is getting frustrating!

Main advantage... don't have to pay for the software...
Disadvantage... need reliable internet connection...

Can't see myself wanting to co-write something with someone NOT in the same room, therefore of limited use to me!

Wikis certainly spoil the fun for hackers! And self-regulation works well in so many industries!

Possible uses? Book (etc.) Reviews... Discussions... After all, we can never have enough opinions!

So libraries are moving away from being stores of information, to facilitators and access to on-line information... there goes the non-fiction section!
But what of the fiction section? Or are we conceding defeat to the film & television industries?

A program to tag your blogs, and search for other peoples' blogs using tags.
The more I do blog searches, the less interested I get. With the amount of duplication, mis-information and #@&* you need to sift through, bring back the Encyclopedia Brittanica!

Another bookmarking tool... with this one you use "tags" - so, if you have your own vocabulary to describe websites, you can group them together!
I think I'll stick with sub-folders!
(I know! I'm not sharing...)

This appears to be a way of putting my bookmarks into sub-folders... which I already do anyway...
Do I see any advantages? Not really (except that it's on-line... maybe THAT'S the point?)

This is one way of cataloguing your books... assuming your book is on THEIR list!
Might be useful if you're REALLY struggling to find a "new" author to read...
still prefer the EMMM method! (Eeney Meeney Miney Mo...)

I wish I'd discovered RSS earlier! - it certainly looks like a timesaver!
I'm not sure that I'll stay with Bloglines though.
When time permits I'll look into other RSS news feeders!
(suggestions welcome!)

I'll also be looking into Aussie & UK feeds... the suggested sites seem OK but US-centric.
